Strong Opening

Fair to middling plot development with only minor annoying technical inaccuracies (the author covers these in the afterword by saying he basically doesn't give a crap that his technical details were wrong in a tech-thriller)

The inevitable terribly written sex scene that Neal Stephenson is famous for. He lists a bunch of folks he consulted with concerning various topics in the book. Apparently, it didn't occur to the author to consult with an actual woman before writing a sex scene from a woman's point of view.

Incredibly boring plot rehash like the author figured the reader forget half the book so he synopsizes it for us.

Oh, that looks like a lot pages back there, guess I'll end the book now.
Bang bang, hack hack, stab stab, boom, boom
. The end.

My only complaint with the book was with how off the end was. The entire book leading up to the end was pretty good, but the ending sucked, imo.

The whole main plot/linguistic virus thing was kind of stupid IMO. Was still a really fun book to read, though, enjoyed the characters, the world Stephenson created, and the humor. Just my $0.02.
