Snope's uses a lot of basic logic and fact checking to make their points. It is stuff anyone could do but most don't...

i disagree. i read the paragraph a few times over and i can see where you can possibly see the that kind of tone in there, but it just isn't there. they're simply saying that he's not an expert in political affairs, so his opinion is about as valid as a dentist's or a professor's.

if they said "the good 'doctor' tomaselli" and put "doctor" in quotes, then i would agree with you and zin. however, they were simply explaining what kind of doctor he was, since they referenced different professions that hold the title "doctor".

:hmm: taken in wider context, that explanation makes more sense with the entirety of their paragraph.

Stylistically, though, the "for the record" bit that sticks out to me does not warrant "Dr." being included in quotes to continue their greater line of reasoning: explaining the misuse of one's expertise.

Either way, I'd still say that you are right.

Now, where's my reach-around?

Name one, with a link, please.

No excuses, no further vague bullshit, just name one and post the link.

I don't have the email from work anymore. The one thing I read about was a State Farm person being fired for some reason when their corporate office was contacted about a dispute and he actually was not. I find that to be only minor. The email mentioned them being wrong a few times, but I would not count it against Snopes as nothing is always 100% accurate.

I work where people are more conservative than usual and the email was bashing Snopes for having a liberal bias. I did not post it as I figured it may have been brought up already around here. Also, you really just see people that have a distaste for liberals bringing these things up in conversations.
