is there something inherently wrong with our society when we need machines to wake us up sooner than our bodies would rather us wake up? shouldn't we all wake up naturally?

(my alarm is the most annoying in the world. it's a small clock that has a random beep, so it's constantly different every time it rings. plus the more i hit the snooze, the shorter time it is between the alarms. after about 30 minutes, there's only about a 10 second delay between the time you hit the snooze button and the time the alarm sounds again. and to top it all off, it's analog and doesn't have any numbers on the face, so i have to squint and concentrate and basically wake up to figure out what time it is. oh, and it's battery powered (1 aa for 6 months), so power outages don't affect it. i bought it 5 years ago without knowing about the awful alarm, i only got it because i thought it looked cool. had i known it was such a bitch, i would have run away)

alarm goes off, walk across room hit snooze, take a 9 minute power nap, alarm goes off again at 7, wake up, go take shower and do stuff

i think waking up the first time is the hardest, the 2nd time the alarm goes off it's no big deal, just a reminder to get my lazy ass up
Congrats on being able to use it just once. In all the cases I've seen that quickly has degraded into multiple uses. I have nothing against one press. It is the 6 presses over the span of an hour when you know you are waking up more people that I'm against.

I have my alram on radio, so when it goes on, I just leave it on, letting it slowly wake me up.

My freakin' GF will hit that damn thing for HOURS!

Yes, I placed the clock on the other side of the room. But that dosen't even phase her.

In fact, I think I'm going to disable the snooze botton on my clock pretty soon here. :|

My roommate freshman year was horrible about the snooze button. It pissed me off so much sometimes. He'd set it early enough so he could shower and eat breakfast before class. Most of the time he got to class 15 minutes late smelly and hungry. I turned it off a few times on my own when I had to get up to piss, if he can't get up the first time i don't care if he misses class.

I make sure to set my alarm so late that I barely have time to get up and get to where i'm going, that way i'm not tempted to use snooze.

My alarm is 8 minute snooze, cell phone is 10 minute snooze.

My roomate did that too. It would go off three or four times, and wake me up three or four times. I hated the fvcking redneck, skank, homophobe, drunk, bigot, dumbass, frat boy b!tch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I am sure he hated your liberal, panty-waisted, fat ass too.
