Yes, but girls support TRUE 3D modeling and their shadows and pixel shading puts any modern PC to shame. Besides, if you get the right model they can be VERY interactive and user friendly! 😀
 
I can afford the 2405 and be a part of the bandwagon..

but Woofmeisters Law is exactly why I didnt go there.
I can afford the video cards too.. but WHY? Not worth it to me. I have other things going on in my life too and

You do realize that the Dell 2045 is widescreen... So, you wouldn't be giving up anything, except money.
 
I love my 2405fpw for the 2d stuff as well as gaming. I am not discriminate enough to notice a drop in clarity at 1600 X 1200 gaming (which I don't a lot of) so I will keep my 7800GTX and 2405fpw close to me. Yeah, oh yeah.

I was making a statement that I like widescreens like the 2405, but just prefer the ones with lower native resolutions like the 2005fpw and new gateway.

So, you wouldn't be giving up anything, except money.

The whole point to my post was that I'm not willing to give up that extra money for the 2405/video card upgrades.. so thanks for the tip.

If you're willing to play with 1:1 ration letterbox mode, Woofmeister's law doesn't apply, and after all, with a 2405, at 1280x1024, you'll still be playing on a 17" screen, and have the glory of a 2405 for text.

The fw900 is definitely for you if you can handle the size and weight of the thing. Literally every resolution is good enough to game on with the fw900.
 
Id give you my GF for your monitor she is slightly used but still in top condition dosent require much maintenance either

From all the forums I'm reading you're gonna get a "high pitch whine" in a few months anyway. Of course, you're probably gonna get this from either one 😉

Agreed, best gaming monitor I've ever owned with all the benefits of a high end CRT in Widescreen format, what more is there to ask for? 😀

Any girl who is so high-maintenance that it impacts your other finanicial considerations is not worth it. Sorry, but I've seen too many guys throw away important things in their lives - things they were passionate about like good bands they were in - just because some chick whimpered that they needed to drop everything to sit by their side like little pathetic puppies. Losers. Shortly thereafter, they're miserable, the women are gone and they've got nothing left. Chumps.
