How long are your guys extensions? I got some 10ft ones so I was thinking maybe they're too long. One of the cables I got is far worse than the other, it still loses connection but it happens like every 5-10 minutes so I still managed to make some progress in Mario world and Castlevania.
This is the one I got. Both work fine for me.

NES Extension Cable 2 Pack 10 ft & 6 ft - NES Controller Extension Cable Cord for Nintendo NES Classic Edition Controller, Cords Extender for WII Remote & WII Nunchuck Controller By Tboon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYZ6LC3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_PcV2zbZ05BKVP

Hmm I might have to try ordering those if I can't fix the ones I have; the ones I ordered have a full 5 stars from everyone else who ordered them so I want to try a few things before I order some different cables and find out I still have a problem.

God damn DKC was so incredible. I will never forget this damn video that I got from TRU when I preordered it, and I will never EVER forget the "after credits" scene in the video, of the game I was probably the most hype for EVER to come out on N64, that they show being played on N64 in the footage, that never actually came out on N64. Shit I loved that game so much I went and bought the arcade game when I was 19.

Man that video was an awesome flashback, thanks for the link.

Whelp finally got mine fully working. Moved the system away from the inputs on the TV and the controllers stopped disconnecting. Tried another HDMI cable and it works fine with my receiver now as well. I guess the cable Nintendo included had some kind of problem, still kind of weird that it works fine when I plug it straight into the TV but not the receiver but at least it's working now.

do they still carry replacement cables for the classic SNES? I still have one but I'll never be able to figure out where I put the cables...

Pardon?

The HDMI cable is generic as is the power cable which is the same as any you can get with most phones. If you're talking extension cables for the controllers, I've seen them for $10 at Best Buy.

When I was at Gamestop earlier trading all my shit in, this old guy came in who clearly had no clue about the SNES classic and it's demand, asking the Gamestop employee if they had any in stock, and the employee was such a fucking douchebag to the guy. He acted like he should know everything about it and then he told the guy that they would have a shipment in this week, but he doesn't tell people when the shipments come to the store. He was basically like yes I know when they are coming but I'm not going to tell you. I mean I get why they don't want to do that, but the way he said it was such a dbag way.

That is code for "only my bros can get one". I know how that works because it has worked in my favor when I was friends with a Gamestop manager. Though my friend would tell people what day to be there and simply say it's first come first serve and they will be limited etc, he'd just make sure that I had something I asked about. That's about all you can do to help people out. Refusing to say when is just being an a-hole. I was also told that multiple managers were terminated for taking bribes on the console releases. Limited stock but for an extra $100 cash they'll hold them back for certain people. Basically nobody could get one from that store unless they pay the manager for the privilege and also buy a bundle which they are not allowed to force people into at the store level.

This guy in general was the biggest douche bag, acting like he was so much better than everyone else. These 2 foreign dudes who were probably 40 years old decked out in nice suits were in there trying to ask him whether a PS4 of X1 is better, and they literally had never bought a console and were asking for suggsetions and he was just being the biggest douche for no reason. Like these guys looked like they were about to spend a lot of money in there and he was just being such a dick to them and they just walked out not buying anything. I ended up talking to them a bit while he checked out my consoles before they left, because they were asking about X1X and shit. The employee overheard and was like 'X1X will only make a difference if you have 4K and HDR displays' which is just false. I decided not to correct him though since the guys clearly just wanted to leave after we were done talking.

Granted I was in the store for like an hour trading in 2 consoles, so I talked to him quite a bit, and he is actually a nice guy, but damn he is a douche in general. The way he kept trying to sell everyone pro member extensions, protection plans, and just trying to upsell people on EVERYTHING was very off putting..

Unfortunately he doesn't have any choice about that. Gamestop Corporate forces their employees to plug all that crap every chance they get and if they don't they're fired. They have metrics that are closely scrutinized for just that reason sadly. Not to play devil's advocate, but they don't do it just to be a dick.

Well that used to be the case but I’m still friends with a couple managers and they don’t have to. It looks good on them but it’s more about hitting sales marks and sell through on pre-orders etc now. When I worked there there was clear quotas for each store for pre-order and the power up pro membership which used to be called something different. Anyway they do push those things but it’s not as intense as before and they don’t have to hit a quote any longer. I think there are some incentives for managers who do well though.

Anyway I have never had an experience or witnessed something like what purebeast described. I do feel like some local stores have poor employees in that they seem more interested in talking about taking lunch than getting me out of there quickly and they don’t seem to really know much beyond their own little niche but nothing that seemed like someone being a d-bag to people. Though to be honest I haven’t visited the stores around me in quite a while since my closest store got all new managers and employees as the previous staff moved to other locations or positions.

Yeah. One of the local Gamestop stores has a manager like that.

There's not really a good reason to avoid telling customers when the deliveries come. If a customer is dedicated and wants to wait in line for one on that day, let him. He deserves to get one for his efforts.

You stand up for the guy and tell the Gamestop employee to stop being a douche?

I'm loving my Classic. 🙂 After hacking it I started playing games like Secret of Mana 2 and FFV with English patches that never came to America. It's a shame to see the number of titles Japan got that never made it to our shores.

I've still yet to see one or to hear of anyone locally getting one. I don't get how Nintendo didn't plan for this better.

The stock was great for launch day for those that got in line like I did. Since then however stock has been pretty sporadic. Here's to hoping it levels off in the coming months.

There's a Walmart and Target stock checker floating around. I've seen a bunch in stock in some of the stores in my area randomly.

I may just say screw it and get one of those Super Nt consoles and scour the used market for the games I really want - Final Fantasy 6, Chronotrigger, Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and DK Country. It'll be more expensive, but the experience should be superior.

Wow I never knew there were English patched versions of those Super Famicom roms. Time to go hit up redacted. 😀

They're probably building up supply for the holidays so they can release a metric f-ton and flood the market so people aren't paying $200 for an SNES Classic for their kids' Christmas present.
