It angers me that Microsoft would modify Firefox in a way that cannot easily be disabled.

If they had simply followed normal add-on procedures then this wouldn?t have been an issue.
 
Doesn't it seem a bit strange that Microsoft would bother writing a plug-in for a non-MS web browser?

Apparently they did it so that Firefox could run some Microsoft applications, but it hardly seems worth it.
 
Firefox 3.5.3 just notified me that it disabled the .net assistant plugin. I forgot that the .net plugin would get installed despite reading the posts about it.

It can be disabled. I don't know where this keeps coming from.
