sneaky files

does win2k make use of autoexec anymore? i know win98 and such used those files, but didnt they drop it in win2k? the reason im asking is because i did a clean install of 2k a few days ago, and this file mysteriously appeared on my hard drive. should i delete it, or open it and see what happens?

It puts them there but leaves them empty. Some programs won't install correctly if one or both of those files are missing. (They want to put themselves in your DOS path or some such nonsense.)
