Not trying to beat you up. But this is a problem contributing to polarization. The opposition part of a legislator's full constituency should be writing letters to those legislators.

And here's the difficulty now, because it also inhibits me. You would then identify yourself in your correspondence, and this is a regime that attempts to punish its opponents. People would be wary of doing the otherwise proper thing -- correspond with your legislator even for your being in the opposition.

In earlier times, I wrote letters as a Democrat to my Republican congressman or senators.

That's a good one, Steve! I would have to laugh, even with broken ribs!

Even reminds me of that Cheech and Chong routine: " . . . Sign de papieren, alte Mann! Sign da papers! . . . . I can't sign the papers! . . . Why, old man, why? . . . . Because you broke botha my arms!"

It explains the same thing, don't you think? I mean that video of Cruz frying bacon on his overheated AR-15. Nobody did that sort of thing in past decades. These people have been watching too much WWE and reality television. Television has taught them how they think they should behave. General Eisenhower would've thrown them in the brig.

Civility and propriety are on life support these days . .

Except for corresponding with our Dem legislators, I feel like we're all keeping a low profile, like the French resistance!

Just a side note on that overheated AR. I've experienced how Parkerizing residue and lubricant on AR types will shed off the barrel looking like oh-so-transparent rice paper during/after being overheated. Now I don't know if manganese or zinc phosphate is toxic in that state, but given that Cruz was doing it, I hope he ate every piece of it. May explain his aberrant anti-social behavior.

These days, between micro-plastics ingested through coffee made with water in recycled plastic bottles, and just breathing deeply, we're all becoming aberrant in some way.

The only connection between the Republicans shutting down the government and Trump illegally cutting off SNAP benefits is Trump. You can stop lying now. You're entering the SlowSpider realm of credibility.
