Looking more carefully at the pic I wonder, "are tower workers paid by the bolt?"

It does look like there are just some random bolts up there, but I do not know much about cell towers.

I'd imagine some would be there when they are erected just for future expansion/prevent thread corrosion maybe.

I'm guessing that box the snakes are on top of is warm.

Extra bolts are usually fastened so they don't accidentally roll off and strike someone down below. If they don't need the extra bolts when the work is finished, there is no point in taking them out. I've worked in a lot of refineries and you see extra bolts all over the place and they have came in handy on a few occasions.

It's a snake wedding, they're just having the reception, a very good one at that.

I always thought it would be cool to do tower work, actually. Except for those types of situations.

I think that's the radio, it looks kinda familiar but hard to tell from that angle, think we use the same ones. Did not figure those got installed right in the elements though. The "grid" you can see is where the fans are. They run the fibre right up the tower, instead of putting the radios in the equipment building and running waveguide. Think it has to do with the frequencies, there's too must loss. I used to get a good laugh when the other noc would call us saying there's a low temp alarm on the radio and that we need to send someone. It's -40, probably -50 at the tower, we can't do anything! Maybe send a guy up with a heat gun lol.

10kW CW 10.6µm irradiance from the ground? :D

And ugh, if the pic is real perhaps a bird's nest with lots of eggs? Rat snakes will climb to great heights for a meal like that.
