SN95G5V3 Will not Post

I installed a new Athlon 64 3500+ from Newegg, Infineon 2x256MB PC3200 DDR Ram from my Shuttle SN45Gv2 and I tried two different video cards. A PCI ATi Rage II-c and an AGP Winfast A310 Ultra and the system does nothing. All fans power up to full speed but it will not post. I tried to clear CMOS but it made no change. I've tried 1 stick of ram in either slot and it made no change.

Any Ideas? I don?t have access to another A64 cpu to try. This ram works fine in my SN45Gv2 so I figure it SHOULD work in this one.

The only response I get from shuttle is to try another CPU. Any other ideas?

if it wasn't skt 939 i'd drive over to dayton so you would test it out with my CPU.

bump for resolution.

I had a similar issue with a SN45Gv3 with a AMD FX-55 and a XFX card
and also a ATI Radeon 9600Pro AGP card.

spent the better half of the day trying to figure it out. Remember there are no beeps
telling you if it posts or not.

Eventually I pulled everything out, unplugged the drives. Put in component by component
and nothing worked.

I thought maybe the CPU had come unseated in shipping. After 8 hours of nothing. I plugged the video card in and its power plug and voila the damn thing worked.

I can't tell you how, can't tell what I did, but I suspect they are quite fickle.

I don't know if it helps, but at least you have company in your misery

I've tried getting a bare system to boot, just mmobo/cpu/ram and vid card. I even tried my old PCI 4MB card to ensure it wasn't a video card issue. Nothing. I've tried three different sets of ram in every config imagineable so I doubt that is it and the shuttle tech agreed. One tech said it was a CPU issue while another said if it was a cpu issue, the red LED on the mobo should light up. I guess I'm going to have to either buy another CPU and hope to get lucky or RMA both.
