Hey all. I'm planning on building a system using the Shuttle SN95G5 barebones. I want to put these components into it:

Athlon 64 3500+ Newcastle
1 gb ddr3200 (2x512)
ATI 9800 XT Pro 256mb
WD 160gb SE HD
16xDVD+/-R
5 in 1 card reader
cool cathode tube

The question is... can the 240w PS handle this do you think? thanks!

Without breaking a sweat.

People run multiple hard drives and current gen vidcards (X800's & 6800's) without any power issues.

I think that the only thing holding me back then in upgradability... especially with PCIe. I love the chassis, but the lack of PCIe is kind of a bummer. thanks Trey

Unless you're a constant upgrader (i.e. performance obsessed :p ), if you get a high end AGP card now (or even just stick with the 9800XT), it'll be a while before you'll need that PCIe slot. They will also probably continue to release some AGP cards for a little while. Look at how you can still find PCI video cards around today. If you've been thinking about it, don't let the lack of PCIe hold you back. You may as well build the system and enjoy it. :)
