What I'm wondering is,

Has anyone tried to fit a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu into an SN41G2?

Right now I have a slightly modded stock AMD HSF installed, I pulled the shroud and moved the fan over a little so that it wouldnt hit the bottom of the drive cage. I also have a Zalman Smartfan 2 on the back blowing out with the rheostat hanging out the back a little so I can jack up the speed when I'm gaming.

Seems to be working okay, when I have the fan set to 2k it idles at ~40c and is a LOT quieter than the stock ICE setup, which is nice.

When I game I reach back and make it howl, I don't notice the sound cuz when I'm gaming I use headphones, Max temp so far gaming has been 52c, again not bad.

What worries me is the close proximity of the drive cage, I was hoping to find something shorter than the retail AMD HSF so that I wont worry too much about bein too clase to the drive cage.

So, do they fit or not?

TIA for any info you guys can offer, it's VERY appreciated..

I just want to quiet it down and have it relatively cool. I still need to replace the PSU fan and replace the sink on the NB, prolly use one of them beefy bastages without a fan since I got decent airflow thru the case.

To lower cpu temp, instead of swapping out the stock heatpipe HSF, I cut out the 80mm fan grill, attached a 120mm fan (with a 80-to-120 adaptor) to the rear of the case(outside), and lowered cpu load temp from 60C to 44C.
My fan setting is at low for my 2.6C @ 3.32 setup.
