SN25P Setup - Power Issue?

Hiya guys,

I was thinking about building a new computer soon... whenever the new G70 comes out but rumor has it that it will require at least a 400W power supply (non-sli) since it takes 150W to run I believe. But.. apparently, the SN26P that was shown at Computex was running 2 6800GT on the same power supply as the SN25P. I'm wondering from the people who owns a SN25P is if the power supply can handle the following setup.

SN25P
AMD 64 X2 4400+ 1MB
OCZ (2 x 1GB) DDR400 (PC3200)
WD 74GB Raptor
WD 250GB SATA II 16MB - 2 of these
Plextor 16x DVD+-RW
GFX 7800 GTX
Saitek Eclipse
Logitech MX1000

No clue about the 7800, since no one has tested it. It should handle everything else fine. Don't forget the 240W PSU in the SN95G5 could handle a FX-55,2 HD's, a DVD burner, a 6800U, and 2GB of Ram with room to over clock.
The Recommendation for the 7800 is because the average PSU is not that efficient. The PSU's in the Shuttle's are much more efficient and can handle more then most other PSU's of equivalent rating.

You make a good point with the SN95G5. Guess you are right Megamixman and we'll just have to wait and see when the card actually comes out, maybe Shuttle would do a test with their system or anyone else that is brave enough to try it! :)

I have an SN25P w/ 2 SATA drives, 1 IDE drive, and a DVD-RW. Runs just fine with my X800XL & 1GB RAM. Granted this isn't quite what you're looking at, but from my experience and what I've read I think you'll be fine. Great system!
