SMTP Server that allows Relay?

Hi. Like the topic states, I am wondering if anyone knows of a decent SMTP server that will allow email relay. I have set up a program at my office to monitor some system activity. If a certain threshold is crossed, it sends me an email. The problem is, I cannot find an SMTP server that will relay messages from outside domains.
For instance, my ISP's SMTP server will only allow me to relay messages to members of my ISP.
Since my office is not a member of my home ISP, I cannot use my ISP's SMTP. Anyone know an SMTP server that is a little more relaxed?

Well obviously there is an isp that your work machines are connected to. Why not use THEIR SMTP server? Or set one up of your own.

Again, all of the SMTP servers I have tried will not allow relay to other domains unless you are a member of said SMTP's ISP.
For instance, I can use SMTP.xyz.com to email people @xyz.com but not @abc.com
If I am a member of xyz.com I can use the SMTP to relay to anyone, of course.
I'm looking for a server that will allow me to relay to any email addy regardless of wether I'm a member of the servers ISP. Probably a stretch, but I reckon there have to be a few out there.

Setting up an SMTP server is an obvious action and is not an available choice.

As n0cmonkey said, why not use your works isp's SMTP server? And you will not have any luck finding an open relay, as they are bad, very bad.

Open relays = SPAM. That is why they are not well liked. But if you must find one. Search UU.net's ip ranges. They are bound to have one that you can leech off of.

Gold, that's what I thought. I'm not going to go into the reasons for not wanting to use the office's ISP. Nothing illegal or anything like that. It's just that there really is no bona-fide reason I should be able to monitor network usage, etc at night. I just do it out of curiosity, trying to learn more and all. So if I asked, or did it on the level, they wouldnt let me proceed more than likely. That said, I have full Admin privleges at work so maybe they will.....

If you do use the office's ISP's relay server they really aren't going to track it back to you or anything. Most relays get SO much mail all they can really keep track of is the sender, recipient and subject. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah, what I'm worried about is someone seeing the script, seeing the email addy in the script and putting 1 and 1 together.
I think I'm just gonna ask tomorrow morning. I have to get over the extra excitement doing something "covertly" brings 😀
