SmoothVision On By Default in CS v1108?

I just put together a new machine with a Radeon 7500. I'm running Win2K with DX8.0a, and the 3276 drivers from ATi. I played CS with all this for the first time yesterday, and I am pretty sure that SmoothVision is enabled because some guns looked a little funky. Is SV enabled by default? How does one turn it off? I don't really need to turn it off as I was getting a constant 72 FPS with 2x FSAA at 1152x864 resolution.

You mean Truform? The command is ati_npatch 0 to turn it off.

Yeah, I meant Truform. How do I turn it back on if I want it back? ati_npatch_1?

You can also change the level of truform with the command ati_subdiv x (x goes from 0 to 7). I personally don't notice anything after the value of 3.

I just got done messing with it. I don't get a performance hit at all when I switch it on.

That's odd. Are you sure you are typing 'ati_npatch x' and not 'ati_npatch_x'? A good test is to take out the knife and look at the guys hands when you're toggling it on/off. You should see a difference in the model if truform is truly being applied or not.
