first post here, hope it works

BLOCKBUSTER DEAL!!! (pun intended)

Best part about this deal is that you can CHOOSE what DVD's you want and they are all brand new releases.
For those who had problems with the previewed ones, these are new DVD's and won't have scratches on them, and you get to test it out before you have to buy it. Hope it works.

Blockbuster has a deal for 10 rentals plus free Spiderman Dvd for $29.99, ask employee for $5 discount
Price=$29.99-$5.00=$24.99

They also have a promotion if you like a DVD, buy it for $9.99. So if you buy all 10 rented DVD's, price will be:
$9.99x10 (for 10 dvd's) + 1 free (Spiderman DVD) = $99.90+$24.99 = $124.89 for 11 DVD's
Therefore, $11.50 for each DVD !!!!

Arby's, Wendy's and Taco Bell also have coupons where you can rent one extra DVD per week, so.....
$9.99x20 (20 DVD's) + 1 free DVD = $199.80+$24.99 = $224.79 for 21 DVD's
Which works out to $10.50 per DVD !!!!

THIS SHOULD WORK WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS!!!!!

The "buy it after you rent it deal" is only for used DVDs, and only, obviously, for DVDs they have a large used stock of.

Why exactly are we asking the employee for a $5.00 discount? Was there a deal listed somewhere for that?

At my blockbuster, they give the original dvd case for previously viewed dvds. and they are also selling a bunch of recent DVDs for $9.99 so i don't really see a point in renting it then buying it.

In fact I dont see any reason in buying, period.
There hasnt been a single DVD worthy of purchase since Matrix IMO
And by worthy I mean something that you might want to see more than twice.

Matrix? Sounds like you need to develop some taste first.

Obviously, that's only your opinion. I think most people would disagree with you...

The downside with thier used DVDs is that they are nearly ALL scratched. I bought 6 used DVDs and had to return 5 because of scratches. I checked out a few more...more scratches.

I guess blockbuster's trying to tap into the DVD selling business... with that kind of buying power, they should be able to rake in tons of $$$

I am confused about the whole renting then buying deal. It seems like you are definitely paying more than 10 bucks for these DVDs, it's more like 15.00 bucks, and then it's not so hot, especially since they are used. GO TO DEEPDISCOUNTDVD.COM FOR SOME DEALS ON NEW DVDs.

That is so untrue, well that may be true but Blockbuster offers a 30 day money back guarantee on all previewed DVDs that you may buy. This means that if you get one that is scratched, you can go in and say it doesn't work and i guarantee eventually you will find a clean DVD free from scratches, basically brand new, at a steep discount...you just gotta know how to work it.

Umm, it will not work without any problems.

1) What DVD's are you getting brand new??
2) Blockbuster's deal on the Spiderman Rental Pass offer is as follow's:
You buy the rental card for $29.99 + tax
you get :
1 copy of Spiderman to own whether you choose dvd or video tape
10 MOVIE rentals whether you rent dvd or tape, 1 per week for 10 consecutive weeks, the week
starts on monday and ends on sunday.
No Blockbuster Employee, Manager or Customer Service Rep. will credit off $5.00 from the price of the rental card.

3) The rent it, like it, buy it program is for select New Release Titles. The way it works is, you rent the title that is part of the
program, when you return it you go in and let the CSR record your name acc# and title you'd like to buy WHEN IT IS PUT ON SALE PREVIEWED!

Either your logic is flawed, or you just do not know how anything at blockbuster works. Might help to read the small print, like MOST businesses the details are there.

Save yourself sometime, pick out your dvd's and just ask the CSR to open the cases for you to check and see if they are scratched or damaged, they will be more then happy to help you out. But yes, you can take advantage of the 30 day quality guarantee, but why make more trips back to the store if it can be avoided?

Sincerely,
Phoenix
