Logitech has a couple similar keyboards out now - though cheaper and less 'elegant.'

I'm not sure how well the diNovo line sold, if there is a sizeable market for over priced, pretty hardware (oh, wait, isn't that the apple model?).

http://www.logitech.com/index..../devices/3616&cl=us,en looks hot, and though it is listed as PS3 peripheral, should work for PCs.

BTW the diNovo Edge is still featured on the logitech site.

I bought a DiNovo Edge in June of this year. Ended up paying $125 + tax after pricematch and rebate.

1) It's a great companion to an HTPC remote. Most other wireless keyboards don't have any sort of mouse control, and HTPC remotes have pretty convoluted mice functionality(either a pressure-sensitive disk, or a gyroscopes. Having a regular touchpad is great for actual computer tasks.

2) It includes a genuine bona fide bluetooth 2.0 receiver and licensed bluetooth stack. This is about $10-$15 or so separately.

3) It doesn't need battery replacement - there's an internal battery.

I guess, when you spend over $1000 for an HDTV, and your cable or satellite bill is $70-$100, or you have a high-end HTPC, the $50 or so "style" premium over cheaper wireless controllers is not terribly significant. I wouldn't use a DiNovo Edge as a main keyboard, but it's very functional in certain restricted uses.

I'm pretty sure that theres a new replacement KB

The G15 is going to be replaced by a newer one in October. There is already a new 5.1 lineup comparable to the z-5500

does it have the same bluetooth-wifi slowdown that the mx5000 suffers from?

I have this keyboard mainly because I'm using a 61 Inch SXRD screen which means I have to sit about 10-14 feet away. Since my PC/HTPC is in the living room, I am always using it while on the couch or at the kitchen table. The DiNovo's built in touchpad removes the need for a mouse and also the keyboard is insanely slim which makes it great for using on my lap.

If you will be using the keyboard in the same way that I do, there is no replacement, this keyboard is perfect.

I have the Edge, and I love it. I replaced my Microsoft MCE keyboard with it because the eraserhead mouse on the MCE keyboard is crap, the battery life is crap, and the keyboard is really heavy.

Unfortunately the one thing missing from the Edge that the MCE keyboard had was an IR blaster for controlling the TV and audio equipment through the keyboard, the only thing I actually liked about the MCE keyboard over the Edge.

I hope you're not talking about the G51's because those are much more closely related to the X series rather than the Z series speakers.

On topic, the diNovo Edge is a great keyboard and $79.99 is a decent price for it considering the price of a standard wireless keyboard.

Sorry I don't mean "comparable" Seems that logitech figure out that lower prices = even more revenue.

I doubt we are going to see $200 MSRP keyboards. They'll probably compensate crappier ones with a lower price.

Eh hopefully we'll see a Z-5500 replacement.

I'm considering this but I don't like having to use yet another a/c outlet.

For the owners of said keyboard how is the mouse response? I got one a while ago and I found the touch pad to be completely unusable. No accuracy and a pain to even get it to respond to a touch. Although i love teh keyboard part of it, just kinda pissed cuz I spent around 130 for it with the intention of using the pad to replace a mouse...

Mine works no problems. It's possible yours is defective, but you may need to tweak your settings like speed etc...

I can use this @ 2560x1600 and I think it does really well for what it is. Much better than most laptop touchpads. A touchpad NEVER replaces a mouse if you want to do anything requiring accuracy (photo/video editing, games etc... etc... ). One thing that helps me a lot is to use the left click button on the far left side of the keyboard with one hand while using the touchpad with the right hand. Works really well for most purposes I found.

I was just planning on using it to navigate MCE. The one I have is horrendous compared to my laptop touchpad. If it worked as well I wouldn't have any issues with it really. It's almost as if I have to mash the pad to get it to register my finger (sensitivity settings only affect it AFTER it decides to register a touch. I didn't find anything int eh software that will let me adjust the touch sensitivity part of it. I bought the keyboard for use in my HTPC. Although I find it for normal use, lol. I will say that the battery in this thing is amazing though. The charge lasts for freakin EVER! If anyone can still find these for 79.99 I'd jump all over it, provided of course your keypad works...

i think we still have about 6 left at my best buy. i was gonna pick em up and throw em on fleabay. my buddy bought one and loves it. the best thing to do is get to a best buy every sunday morning. comb the computer dept for clearance items. i have picked up items retailed over $100 for around $20. about 2 weeks ago there were projectors on clearance for around $215 marked down from six something.

the egde has been on clearance for over a month, but not too many people like spending $80 on a keyboard. ive heard that some stores have them down to $40. different markets will drop it to different clearance prices.
