Now, I know it is shunned upon when a member promotes their own store, but this is too hot to pass up(besides, I'm only a sales associate).

At FYE(I would imagine strawberries, cocnuts, and other transworld entertainment stores), the week of June 15th(had to post before I forgot) when Simpsons volume 4 hits the shelves, volumes 1, 2, and 3 will be $14.99 each. So for you simpsons fans out there this is a great deal.

I know I'll be getting season two. Have a good one :)

Wow, that is an awesome price. Are there any rebates involved, or is it that price out the door?

too bad those early Simpsons aren't nearly as funny as the later years.. plus the animation looks rudimentary compared to current episodes - they're hard to watch.

bump for a good price.

I briefly said to a former coworker that the simpsons is a pretty intelligent show and he responded, "how is a 3 eyed fish, intelligent?"

i was about to kill myself at that moment...

perhaps "intelligent" isn't the correct term... but for someone to reduce the simpsons to "simply a cartoon on prime time"... makes my skin turn green!

Well, the episode that introduced that 3-eyed fish was quite clever, with Marge using it to keep Mr. Burns from becoming Governor. It's your coworker that's S-M-R-T.

Season 1 is like that only. Season 2 is where it became the Simpsons we know and love.

No doubt that the middle seasons of the Simpsons where writers such as Conan O'brien contributed, produced classic episodes. However, the early Simpsons episodes are no push over. They begin one of the longest running, prime time shows ever.

And to address the 3 eyed fish. My goodness where do I begin. Any time Mr. Burns is involved in an episode, that episode provides very relevant social commentary on the corporate form of capitalism we have in this country today. Not to mention, Mr. Burns was a business man running for public office in the episode (sound familiar? like an MBA we know in the white house?). Just because someone thinks three eyed fish are silly, does not mean nuclear engineering is an accepted form of energy production by the mass population. Most of them still live in fear of such cold war propaganda concerning nuclear power. A three eyed fish, in my opinion, is a funny way to play on America's obsession with science during the cold war (e.g. the space race).

I was thinking the same thing. Will there need to be an ad to get the pricematch, or will they just call FYE to verify price/stock? Will be picking up this deal.

Thanks for the deal but you just posted inside information from your company. More than one employee has lost their job for that sort of thing. If for some reason you don't find yourself out of a job soon I'd recommend you don't claim to work there. Probably best if you say you heard it from a friend or something like that.
