Picked one up today. This ad http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...23982805649941 has it at $788, but I went to my local WalMart and it was marked down to $698. Better than any BF ads Ive seen so far. Im keeping it boxed in case Frys has something better, but its definately a smokin deal.

Panasonic 46" Class Viera 1080p Plasma HDTV

The full-HD Panasonic Viera TC-P46U1 is ideal for sports and movies because 600Hz subfield drive technology presents clear, focused images during fast-moving scenes. Additional highlights include a built-in digital tuner and three HDMI inputs.

if a $700 tv can be called cheap, this is cheap... i may have to replace the old 27'' tube in the bedroom...

Panasonic Viera - excellent TV for both HD and Standard TV. No blur viewing, excellent anti-glare and the built in speakers are surprsingly good.

I may have to head to Wallyworld tomorrow to see if that price is good around here.

Fingers crossed.

I went to Walmart @ Santa Ana, CA.. today to get this TV as well!
The price tag in the store has shown $788 and it was marked down to $698 when I paid. ( I was told that it's merely b/c I got the last one in that specific Walmart and I sure don't buy that reason!)

The deal is too good to be true!!

wow nice price. Cant believe some of the deals on tvs this season. While BF has a few deals that I always expect its the everyday deals that have really surprised me. I just picked up a lg42lh40 for 599 at best buy. I actually got it for 499 when it rung up since I was buying a 349 ps3 it dropped the price of the tv another 100 bucks.

I've seen the S1 going for around $900. This is a U1 panel and if I'm not mistaken it has no anti-glare coating, a dealbreaker with plasmas. Also it is last years panel and is therefore not as bright. Not sure whether it suffers from the 24p @48Hz stutter. I'd honestly rather pay a bit more for a S1 (Not a S14 costco PoS model).

This would still rock for a conference room TV hooked to a computer? My client can control the lighting pretty well IIRC.
