Thats about the cheapest i've ever seen it. Only on sunday 10-09. $80-50IR=$30 OTD. DL media is usually about double the price. It looks real genero, but i'm get some just to play around with.

Sweet... Just out of curiousity -- do you have to pay tax on the $80 or only on the $30?

With instant rebates at bestbuy around here you only pay tax on the after instant rebate price. Its just like any other sale where they had actually priced the item down, electronics stores just like for you to know exactly how much they are discounting the item, plus it helps ppl understand that it is only a temporary price reduction.

Sad I dont have a compusa around here, I would love these things.

The SKU is 318729 which shows up online as Memorex 2.4x. Link for information only since it is on sale for $30 only in the stores..

Memorex DL are bad. And the Ritek DL media are bad.

Verbatim and TDK are the better DL media you can buy.

Yeah, but I burn Riteks all day long without much trouble (helps if you have the right burner though, I'll give you that) and at a little over a buck each this is not bad.

I agree as long as you do not have issue...people are reporting issues with ritek on Nec and Benq burners

In my area I can't find this listed as being on sale today.

How do they burn on NEC 25x0 players?

Wag: Dunno find out for yourself at http://club.cdfreaks.com/ I also wanted to add that the NEC 3540 can be had for less than $40 these days and it is quite a step up from the 2X00 series drives. For the cost of a spindle of media you might want to think about upgrading, if it isn't broken, upgrade until it is. ;)

they are coaster, expensive coaster, inconsistent quality. Sometimes they are 5% coaster, sometimes they are 75% coaster. If you are lucky, you get 5% of the bad one, if you are unlucky, hmmmm 3 discs out of 4 go into trashcan, ouch!!!.

so for online purchases what is the best deal on dual layer dvd's? Best I could find is on newegg, they have a weekend special on a 25pack of some RiData brand DL dvd+r's for $49.99, free shipping. It also comes with a free Combo 5+1 Mixed Pack for free. Not as good as that CompUSA deal, but still descent, isn't it?

I have a Benq 1640 and it burns Riteks at 4x and Verbatims at 6x with no issues.

i hear nero 7 has a better dual layer burning engine. I've tried a beta 7, but its quite buggy in general, you can however have both 6 and 7 installed at the same time. I'll try see how 7 is with DL on these discs.
