Smithwick's is a NOOB beer ;)

Edit: in case it's not clear, I'm not trying to be an elitist prick. This statement is meant to be a joke. Everyone has different tastes, and I respect that. Drink what you like, and damm what other people think. As they say, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and they all stink.

I was going to say it's a pretty good for the style, but now I don't think I can say anything without appearing elitist.
Congratulations on the block. Well played sir.

A beer made in the jungles of Africa is the best beer ever. I would tell you its name but it can't be expressed in the english language. Sounds a bit like hoofprint but the slightest difference in tone and inflection could change the meaning to anything from "doorknob" to "clean floor". If you try to deny this I will laugh at you and declare you a beer n00b.

Well, personally I'm not very interested in the irish red ale style. But I begrudge no one their favorite tipple- be it smithwicks, bud light or Smirnoff ice. If I'm going to drink anything from that neck of the woods, its Guinness.

And Djheater, your promised bottles of 3 floyds haven't arrived yet ;). No worries.

Good beer. If anyone is in the Denver area, I recommend the Vanilla Porter by the Breckinridge Brewery for dark beer fans. The Butte Creek Porter from California is good too (if you can find it).

Caffrey's was an excellent Irish pub ale, but you can't find it anymore :(

Smiddicks is what I've heard the most. It has a lot of names, but who cares as long as it's good. =)

I love it. Newcastle used to be my favorite but now I'm a Smithwick's man.

BTW how do you pronounce it? I say it as "smittick's."

I've grown mighty accustomed to the Goose Island Beers:

Honkers's Ale (so smooth)
India Pale Ale (the only India pale ale that I don't find too bitter)
312 (wheat, very nice)
Nut Brown (nice bite)

mmmmm....Blacksmith.

Smithicks(sic) in the bottle is NOTHING like on tap. I'm not a fan of the bottled version at all.

I think I drank my wife and I drank our body weight in Smithwicks when we were in Ireland. It was 1.5 euros cheaper a pint than Guinness.

Close. They pronounced it Smit'icks in Dublin.
