SMC2835W 802.11G 54mbps PC Card
$43.99 shipped
-$20.00 SMC rebate
=$23.99 shipped AR

SMC rebates have been reliable for me in the past.
1 per person, and they seem pretty strict on that.

10/28 - OOS at Amazon now (they refer you to Office Depot now for a higher price).
If you don't mind paying shipping, Buy.com has the same deal.

For me, shipping shows as $5.44 making the grand total $29.42AR.

The following cards are NOT SUPPORTED in this release:
3com
Cisco
Compaq WL100
Dell TrueMobile 1100 Series
D-Link
IBM built-in cards
Intel
Intermec
Linksys
Netgear
Symbol
SMC <----I assume the G version also as it appears to use a Prism chipset...not supported by netstumbler.
Sony built-in cards
US Robotics
Any 802.11a cards
Many others
I hope to get support for some of them in later releases.

Well, after fiddling with this card for two days....it simply won't hold connection with my Netgear MR814 router. The signal goes from off to 50% to 80% to off...and that is about 3 feet away. It won't obtain an IP address nor with it get any signal in the next room. Have tried various drivers and two different PC's. My Orinoco 802.11b and USRobotics 802.11b cards work fine anywhere in the house. Back to Amazon it goes.

Maybe just bad experience...but I've returned all 3 of the SMC purchases that I've made in the last 3 years because of varous problems.

Best of luck to you all! :)
