SMC2404WBR Wireless router with Orinoco Silver Problem

Can't get the wireless card to access the internet...
I get a signal saying that it's connected but for some reason.. I can access the router or the internet..
Can anyone help?
 
did you follow all the installation instructions in the router manual?

Describe your network and tell us what installation steps you've already gone through. 🙂
 
I've set up the ssid and the channel to 1.
No encryption for now...
Preamble to auto.
SSID broadcast on.
Updated the firmware to both.
Pc card deteched the SSID.
not sure what the channel setting it.
no encryption for card.

that's it for now.

Edit....
If I set it up with a static IP address... It works fine....
For autodetect... It gives me an IP address I have no clue where it's coming from.

Background... This laptop is normally used at a college and it's set up as autodetect.
