Buy.com has this router for $69.95
Thought that was a good buy.
They also have free shipping on over $100.00
They also have $10 off of $100.

I must be retarted, but I can't get it to give me free shipping (yes, I have more than $100 in my cart ;) ). What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Nevermind. I didn't realize I needed a coupon for this. Is it OK for me to post the link to the coupon?

This router is basically the same as the 3com 5c310 that TigerDirect is pawning off for $49.95.

I am running the latest SMC Firmware on my 3com now.... 3Com stopped the updates.

Luv mine...had it for about a year now. The modem backup works great too! DSL goes down, just switch to the modem port. (Only had to use it twice this year....Ameritech's DSL is pretty solid).

this is the ABR model, not the older BR model that was the brother/cousin of the 3com.

this is a newer version with different innards and different firmware.

I got a flier from PCClub today that has a special for the day after Thanksgiving; the router appears to be the same model - $60 + $11 for 3 day shipping for the 7004ABR model. I was only able to locate reviews for the 7004BR, which had a downside of no reset switch, nor upload link. I am not familar with the importance of the "upload link", and could not find any info if it is a feature of the ABR model or not. I would like to consider this item, but would certainly appreciate some knowledgeable feedback first.

My thanks to ibfishing for his post.

The 7004BR required a crossover cable in order to uplink. The ABR has automatic sensing and will reverse the connection automatically. No crossover cable needed. In my opinion and just about everyone elses, these are the best routers on the market. For a while there were $50.00 rebates around, but the president of SMC made a response in this forum saying that cost his company too much money. Apparently he didn't know about the AT effect. He went on to say that future rebates, when offered, would probably be around $20.00.

I guess he had never seen a 90 percent or higher response to a rebate offer before.
