SMC Barricade (SMC7004ABR) port forwarding and Bittorrent

I followed the instructions in the SMC user manual to enable port forwarding (called Virtual Server in the router configuration) on TCP ports 6881-6889. However, every bittorrent client I have tried gives some sort of indication that no port forwarding is occurring (usually a solid yellow light). Yesterday I tried the Azareus client which has an explicit dialog for testing port forwarding which resulted in a NAT error message. My question is: has anyone gotten port forwarding working with BitTorrent and the SMC Barricade (SMC7004ABR) and if so, how was it achieved? One thing I noticed was that the manual states port forwarding will only work with a fixed IP connection and mine is dynamic (cable). Is it possible that the port forwarding settings are being ignored because of this, or did the manual simply make a mistake?

Hi,
I have got port forwarding to work on the 7004ABR.
I use it so that i can host a website and ftp site on one of my LAN PCs (192.168.2.2).
I am also using bittorrent and have never had to set up any port forwarding whats so ever for it, and it works great.

i wouldn't be using the ports 6881-6889 anymore these days, most good BT sites i know of now (incl. Suprnova) don't even allow those ports anymore
