It's a weekend, the cutomer service people ary saying that this deal is indeed valid.

Are buycom bigwigs away at a ski retreat?

Where is my Hitachi monitor that I ordered two years ago?

I hope my two switches will not be joining the Hitachi in the land of lets pretend.

How many more idiots want to call CSR "just to make sure" even after a dozen on your comrades previously have? Whoever gave the tip about deal killing, thanks. BTW, I understand this deal is legit, as evident by all you guys calling. But if you try to kill it on legit deals, who knows what you'd do on pricing errors?

For those of you planning on making a killing on e-bay....

well, someone has one (used) listing with a Buy It Now price of $100! Should give some indication of saturation (edit - this is a used hub, my mistake).

edit SMC EZNET 10/100 switches already listed:

This individual already has FOUR of these switches listed

And here's someone listing TWO

Don't say I didn't tell you so, but ......

Yeah but his is used. That, and maybe he really is going "wireless" and he just wants to get rid of it.

Are you a little slow?

I wrote a little play to help you out.

Your E*ay Hub: Hi, I am a hub, I am very cheap.
Buy.com Switch: Hi, I am a switch, I am more expensive.

Your E*ay Hub: I am used and an old model, that means I am cheaper.
Buy.com Switch: I am new, that means I am more expensive.

Thank You. I'll be here all week.

Hey Dung-n-stein (err.... Hugenstein) - instead of being a little snot-nosed smart-ass, why don't try providing some useful information for those of us trying to decide whether to take the e-bay gamble????

I inadvertently hit the reply button in bouncing between screens cutting and pasting links.

I just checked Dung-n-stein's profile, s/he's contributed a whole 13 posts since 30 December 2000

fvcking pin-head....

Are there any reviews on this switch? I know some people have had problems with other switches like the Linksys one.

Yeah, I heard the linksys switches had some problems a long time ago. But that was Linksys and a long time ago. Currently I have a netgear 10/100 autosening Fast Ethernet switch with no problems. The SMC Switches are TOP of the line. They are truly excellent as I have had experience with them. I havent heard anything bad about them except there price which now is really low! If you want one (I mean two for the price of one) get it know before they are out!

Geez folks... use a credit card (as opposed to a debit card), document everything completely (copy of receipt and any/all pages referencing the deal in question) and do the deal. If they don't come thru, get an rma. If they refuse an rma, call yer cc company.

And above all, if you can't afford it if it all goes wrong, go play in the shallow end of the pool! ;)

I just ordered also. I only need the one. I am probably just going to egay the 2nd for $90 to $100 on eg@y.

I hope others have luck with this deal also. I hope this isn't like ram deals at the beginning
and a couple of weeks later you get everything for twice as cheap( half the price.)
best,
kingink

Rice is right though. True, switches are much more complicated in the way it manages transfers as opposed to a hub, but ultimately, it's just simply faster (and less data corruption).

Ah damn, I guess I am a dummy. I thought this was a router? Guess both will go up on egay and I will get me a 4 port router and some cash to spare!
