Smash Burger - AWESOME

I'll keep it simple.

I love burgers. I love five guys

Smash Burger is better(not the fries though). Just opened here 2 or 3 days ago, it is very good. Don't think they have too many locations, but check it out if you can

update:

🙁 I went back yesterday. Its now been open about a week, and major dissapointment. This time the burger was cooked all the way through and it made all the difference. It seemed like the burger was extra smashed because it was hanging out of the bun a lot more than last time, which was annoying to begin with. Now with the generic overcooked burger, I'm downgrading this place big time. The onion rings were ok. I didn't like the fried pickles. Five Guys takes back the crown...

smashburger is weak sauce. High prices raise expectations, but then they serve you mediocre fare that can't compete with Burger King, though you're paying 30% more.

Granted I've only eaten there once - they opened in March - but I don't plan to go back.
I walked out feeling hugely ripped off.

its not more expensive than five guys if I recall, though neither is as cheap as fast food. at least smash burger you order at the counter and they bring the food to you.

Here is a menu for comparison to five guys. You get a choice of size and toppings. nice options, and they have custom items for different states which is cool. NJ has taylor ham, among other things. Even though the burgers are smashed, which is normally a no-no, the burger was very juicy and cooked a perfect medium rare, which I didn't even have to ask for. My gf ordered the 1/3 lb. vs my 1/2 lb, and hers seemed to be cooked a bit more.

I didn't really like the smash fries, which have olive oil and some herbs. but the burger was definitely better than five guys IMO, and the place was a lot nicer

I won't even respond to the guy who said burger king is better rofl.

edit: oops, forgot to post the menu before

They are opening one here in Vegas adjacent to a In-n-Out...literally the in-n-out parking lot is the same distance from the door as the smash burger lot - they even have an entrance facing the in-n-out lot...that takes some balls...I will have to check it out for that fact alone thinking they can compete with in-n-out

ive never had in n out, but from what I've seen those burgers are similar to five guys. from what I had at smash burger, they don't overcook the meat and it tasted much better than the five guys burgers, and they are cooked much better

In-n-out and Smash Burger cater to different crowds. Smash Burger is basically a sit down restaurant with a restaurant type burger.

never heard. details about the burger? compared to, say, five guys or in-n-out.

they're really good.

better than 5-guys...

never had in-n-out, so can't compare.

They have this place in Cambridge, MA called 4Burgers. It's 6-7 dollars a burger. i am not paying 6-7 bucks for a burger.

for the guys saying its too expensive, I would eat a burger from here or five guys for $6+tax with water and without fries over fast food places any day

Considering you pay 4-5 for a Big Mac/Whopper at one of the chain places, i'd rather pay 6-7 for a GOOD burger.

There's this restaurant by me called Champps Americana that, on Monday's, has 50% of their burgers... i'd rather go there and pay $8 for a burger plate.
