I've been having fits finding a way to conveniently listen to my ~3 hour long MP3 files. My new Nokia Lumia 520 (Windows Phone 8.0) will FF/REW decently, I can pause and resume. But if I pause or stop play there doesn't seem to be a way to resume from my stop point if I shut down the phone in the interim. I do that from time to time to save the battery. Even my lowly Sandisk Sansa M250 MP3 players support resume from the stop position as an option, even if I remove the battery. Do some smartphones/OS's support this?
I have been looking for an app to do this with my 520 and not found it. In one Windows Phone Central thread a guy said I could install Windows Phone App for Desktop on a Windows 8 or 7 machine, create libraries and import files into the Nokia and play as audio books, which would support the feature. This seems like a really roundabout and complicated of doing something that should be really simple:
Audiobook Reader ???
