Smartphone recomendation

I've been looking at the HTC wildfire, what else should I be looking at in the same price bracket?

Subsidized, the Wildfire should be nearly free, unfortunately it's specs aren't that great, especially if you're looking at using it for 2 years or more.

I'd recommend a used better spec'd phone instead, display resolution and cpu speed would kill it for me...

It's a European release phone, the replacement for the Tattoo IIRC.
