The case here was lost almost entirely on the officer's admission that the RADAR had not be calibrated, his lack of training, and knowledge of the system in use. The GPS data just hammered home the point that the officer appeared to be incompetent in the employment of his equipment.

Bullcrap. Give my one example where anarchy exists among humans.

Anarchy can exist within the boundaries a country with an established government. Such societies have existed in America for a couple hundred years. They don't vote or take part in the government in any way. They are not involved with the military or police. No judging, no laws, just live and let live. You don't have to overthrow a government to live a life free, contrary to popular belief.

What happens when they break a law? What happens when they are arrested? What happens when taxes come in?

Do they still pay taxes? Then they aren't really anarchists
Do they still try to obey the law? Then they aren't really anarchists.
Do they still use money? Then they aren't really anarchists.

Every time you use, follow, or in any way shape or form participate in a government, you aren't really truly being an anarchist. Your free minded anarchists are nothing more than uninvolved citizens. The only difference is that they believe themselves to be free spirited anarchists.

As soon as you decided you wanted laws and government you gave up that freedom. As long as you continue to support them you will never have freedom.

I never wanted laws or government, so don't make assumptions.

Imagine with such a system what they could do. It goes far beyond speeding!

The system like a flight recorder used on aircraft records speed, weather conditions, acceleration, GPS/street data all in real time. This could be gathered and used for driver profiling. A FOB or ignition key with biometrics would be used to validate authorized drivers. For drunks BOC validation would be required.

If a driver regularly exceeds posted speed limits a tax could be imposed on their license/tag renewals. Speed if you like - they will make you pay! But it hardly stops there! If you take turns too fast, cut people off (other drivers would have a "report asshole driver" button, for example - which in its own works both ways to prevent retaliatory digital road rage) - so drivers that take lots of chances have a higher risk assessment. This data gets periodically updated to Clue reporting systems for insurance agencies to review. Again, speed freaks and rude drivers that take chances, flip off other drivers, even blow their horns near hospitals - will pay for it.

Like to "peel out" when the light turns green? That will cost too when you buy tires and gasoline. Those events will trigger more "risky entertainment" taxes at the pump and service stations!

Text while driving? There would be a tax to do that too.

Isn't technology fun?

we had a big thread on something about this. I beleive within 12-15 yeas it will be reality.

but of course it won't be about speeders. oh no. it will be for a discount on insurance. then it will be on ALL insurance policy's. then hmm the police force needs it and the goverment needs it for road tax's (under the idea that those that don't drive as much don't pay as much).

wow, draconian America is popular.

People really believe those in power are always looking out for their 'servants'.

I for one, do not want big brother, keeping tabs on all my driving, be it styles, time, speed, or locations traveled.

Duh, yes anarchy is a bad thing.
And for someone who is quoting Scripture in his signature I would think you should know that.

Tolstoy seemed to think government bodies aren't biblical. Do you study the bible enough to argue?

Boom, a thread about speeding is now about religion.

What are you talking about? God personally called David, Saul, Solomon, and countless others to be kings, IE, established a government. Practically the whole book of Deuteronomy is about the laws the people should follow and the way the government should be.

Christ was setup as the king of kings, lord of lords, the supreme ruler and the apostles themselves were setup to be rulers/leaders. This is a form of government.

The bible is cram FULL of the notion of government. Perhaps you need to re-read it.

Smart Phone Gets Driver Out of a Speeding Ticket

"The speed limit in the area was a mere 25 miles per hour and the cop's radar gun shockingly clocked me driving over 40 miles per hour."

Once in court Katta asked the officer the last time he attended radar gun training, when the device was last calibrated, or the unit's model number — none of which the officer could answer.

"I then presented my time stamped GPS data with details about my average moving speed and maximum speed during my short drive home. Both numbers were well within the posted speed limits," says Katta.

"The judge took a moment and declared that I was not guilty, but he had an unusual statement that followed.

To avoid any misinterpretations about his ruling, he chose to clarify his decision by citing the lack of evidence on the officer's part.

He mentioned that he was not familiar enough with GPS technology to make a decision based on my evidence, but I can't help but imagine that it was an important factor.""

======================================
Wait there's more

http://skattertech.com/2011/02/how-my-smart-phone-got-me-out-of-a-speeding-ticket-in-traffic-court/

After a lengthy pause, the judge asked how I obtained the GPS tracking information. I provided a detailed explanation about my new awesome smart phone, the application in use, and how I exported the data.

After questioning whether the data was reliable, I mentioned the in progress Sonoma County Superior Court trial regarding the same matter about the credibility of both technologies.

======================================

So there is a case in progress that will either allow police forces to continue to lie about their speed traps or arm citizens with their first ability to refute the speed traps.

No, the smart phone GPS data did not get the driver out of the ticket.

Interesting.

Should have slapped him with a texting violation while he was at it. :awe:

Anyway, TO PUT A "NOT ALL COPS ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE, JUST LIKE HOW NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE PSYCHOPATHIC TRANSSEXUAL MIDGET RAPISTS" tone on this, I have been legitimately caught with radar and laser tech by coppers and the measurements they gave were even lower than what I was actually doing. (I think they tend to round down)

Just do like Gallagher says. Give everyone a gun that shoots rubber suction cup tipped darts, that have flags on them that say ASSHOLE. Someone cuts you off, hit them with an ASSHOLE dart. Speeder? ASSHOLE. Moron on the phone? ASSHOLE.

Then, all the cops have to do is wait until you have 3 ASSHOLE darts on your car. They pull you over, write you a ticket for being an ASSHOLE, and remove the darts for re-use. Simple!!

(and how's that for the most times using the word ASSHOLE in one post?? :awe: )

in reality most of you would be cut off by some gang-banger and pissed. You check your rear-view only to see some old lady driving up.

You all cover her car in darts.
