😕 <--been wondering about this for a long time

The SMART settings on the chip/SMART chip/whatever on HDs has been around awhile, as has the setting to enable/disable it in the bios on many motherboards.

How do I actually SEE what this SMART thing has to offer? What program can access it?

What kind of HD do you have? For instance, WD has lifegaurd software program that will do a SMART check and give you the results. Check with your HD manufacturer.
