My 25 year old son lives with autism as his daily challenge, he has worked hard to overcome many issues & is currently in college & doing well. I started small, a cheap net10 cell phone, which he cherished & cared for, last Xmas I upgraded him to a Virgin Mobile Optimus V which he has loved & cared for. Got him an inexpensive Asus laptop for his birthday which he practically had a heart attack of excitement over.
Nothing beats yesterday though.. I gifted him with a Kindle Fire HD, I helped him set up an Amazon account & talked to him about online shopping safety, I shared an Amazon Prime invite with him. We searched the free Prime movies for Anime & got a ton of freebies. My son is very formally polite, he always says thank you for gifts but never have I seen such expressions of joy over a gift! He was smiling from ear to ear & showing off pics of the kindle to his friends on Facebook.
Technology is amazing, my son finds it easier to communicate via text or message, these devices really have enhanced the quality of his life!
