I'm re-watching Season 3 and Lana said, and I quote "If you were infected by the meteor rocks, it would be OK."

We know he never tells her (at least, the previous movies would tell us this), so WTF!?

Fvcking tell her, God damn it!

He does tell her and then she dies. So he then goes back to the past to "fix" things.

It normally doesn't bother me that much, but this time she was talking specifically in his case. I don't see why he couldn't tell her. DAMN!

He is pretty retarded. According to Smallville, I believe Lex Luthor could have turned out ok if Clark would have told him his secret when they were good friends (and Lex showed every sign of actually being a decent person). However all the secrecy and Lex's father driven ambition as well as natural curiosity have sort of F'ed things up a bit (although I doubt the brains behind Smallville would actually want to stray that far from Superman canon). However it is pretty frustrating to watch at times, all the decisions (or indecisions) Clark makes...

I'm so sick of the whole Clark & Lana issues. Clark just get it on with Louis or Chloe and forget about Lana...

I seemed to have missed the episode involving a Louis, thankfully. ;)

The idea is that people identify with Clark because he has a secret that he feels he can't tell anybody, just like everybody else does. If he suddenly started telling people his secret, he would be harder for the audience to identify with.

As is discussed in intro to english lit for non-majors, a common theme in literature for hundreds of years has been that of the outcast/outsider who is not accepted and feels set apart from all others. This property makes protagonists more likeable because everybody has things they want to keep hidden from others. Comic book heroes almost universally make extensive use of this idea, and it's no surprise that the writers for the TV show would not want to stray from it. If I could go back and redo my Junior theme from HS, I'd make that my topic.

Not to insult the actress, she was great in Eurotrip, but smallville suffers from a huge overdose of lana/clark interaction, and if they divided that content by ten (or at least converted 90 percent of it from emo to action scenes) I would find it to be more entertaining. I find the character development of lex luthor to be much more interesting, and am curious to understand at what point he ceased to become Annakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader, so to speak.

What they don't show you is Clark getting frustrated and post YAGT on ATOT.

According to comic book geekdom, Lana is the only person from his past that knows who he really is.

As for introducing Lois Lane into Smallville,

What about Chloe and Pete, though?

What about Chloe and Pete, though?

Chloe was never a part of the Superboy saga until introduced in the Smallville series.

Pete actually was a central character, but wound up suffering a nervous breakdown in adulthood and spending his life in a mental institution after Superman couldn't save his son.

One Pete's son was saved, Wiki says that the were relatively unheard of again.

Doesn't matter, as we're going to have a lot of movement in this next season...I should probably rewatch the last season. Lana's out of the picture, bring out the welcome mat for Lois.
