I'm pretty sure that that was Lex dreaming of his death. They didn't really explain why it would crash.

The crash as shown is not survivable. The surface tension of the water when you hit it at above 150mph (which the jet would obviously be -- WAY above) makes the water effectively more solid than concrete. It would give less as the plane flattens against it and blows up than a solid concrete wall would.

Not that the laws of physics have played a significant role in Smallville to date -- but I think having Lex survive that crash is too great a leap away from them for even those writers.

It wasn't in a complete dive though IIRC... damn, i might need to redownload that episode. And doesn't Lex have the power of never getting sick thanks to the meteror rocks? I remember he mentioned something like that in one of the episodes... this could possibly be what saves him.

Sure they did... the 'evil' smile his new wife had in the beginning of the flight. Then he wakes up to an empty plane, and a cockpit that was destroyed... quite obvious somebody was out to kill him. But why would they do a crash and not just slice his throat, i don't know. It could be a dream... but that would just be such cheap tricks.

I still have the episode on the computer - the first shot they show of it diving into the water, the plane is about 35 degrees to the water. After they show Lex's face, they show it about to hit the water - this time at about 75-80 degrees (damn near perpendicular). I don't ever recall Lex having the power of not getting sick - not getting sick doesn't make him invincible - he got his @$$ beat in the first episode with Clark's mind reading friend and the recent one where they showed Clark naked. Hell remember that Clark saved his @$$ in the Porsche in the very first episode - maybe he can't get sick but he's no Superman himself.

Honestly I don't see a viable plot line as to how Lex could survive this plane crash without it being a dream. If it is a dream, it is pretty lame that he'd be able to luckily survive it, but it's more explanable than anything else.

how does surviving a plane crash and not getting sick have anything to do with one another?
ahaahahahahahah so lame!

The name of the song playing when Clark sees Lana in his loft and she is about to go to the wedding is by Matthew Good and called Weapon.

wat happened to the place that Lex was in?

I think that his dad told that lady to kill him.

NO, his dad was always like what do you want from LEX? I think that it's some one from the past buying her out, or maybe it's a setup and it wasn't even her fault, she might have been forced to do it, or maybe the drink was drugged by someone else. My question is how are they going to take that ring of off clark? And, I don't get why the ship didn't fight back when he put the kryptonite in it.

Fight back how? When Clark gets kryptonite put around him, does he fight back?

But you do make a good point about Lex's dad and the role of his wife. Maybe his dad was helping him by questioning the wife... and i think you're right on this!

I see 3 possibilities with the Lex part:

1. Lex probably knows how to fly a plane and takes over for the missing pilots. He's had unexpected skills before.
2. It's not really Lex. Its a clone his father created to frame Lex for stealing the blood sample and potentially kill the wedding. The clone needed to be disposed of before people found out about it.
3. Lex was cloned by his father to act as a scapegoat for the raid on the lab and screw up the wedding. The one in the plane is the real Lex. Lex becomes evil after this point just as the cloned child was evil.

With Chloe now investigating Clark and Clark leaving (guessing to Metropolis?):
Maybe Lois Lane isn't really Chloe's cousin but is in fact Chloe going undercover.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I like those theories

Do you think Martha really lost her baby or will something happen?

She really lost the baby... Superman never had a baby brother.

I wish they kept the baby -- it would have been a interesting change/addition to the Superman legend. In the original comics, Johnathan Kent (not sure about Martha) died early in Clark's life but when John Byne redid the Superman myth, he decided he wanted Clark's parents to be alive -- I thought this was a good change.

As for the angle of the plane... the plane didn't have any controls, so it couldn't have dipped at a more steeped angle just as it hit the water. It could have been an optical illusion.

Second, him not being able to get sick just means he's never gotten sick since he was exposed to the meteroite rock... and i remember he admitted this to Clark as one of the effects the meteroite had on him. As for Clark saving him in the first episode... true, but who's to say he would have drowned and died if Clark didn't save him?

how does surviving a plane crash and not getting sick have anything to do with one another?

Because if the plane didn't crash at a very steep angle, then what will kill him is drowning, not the impact. And if he can't be killed by natural causes, he might 'die' at first, but then float onto some land and his body heals itself.

Am I the only one that didn't like how Clark is wearing Red Kryptonite to escape his troubles? First off, that behavior is similar to drug abusers -- so Clark is like a druggie now. Secondly, the first time he was exposed to Red Kryptonite, I think he almost killed his father -- why would he take a chance like that again?

What kind of shelter world do you live in?

I thought Lex's dad would be written off in season 3.

Will Lex's wife become a regular member in season 3? During the intro, they can have a picture of a hospital or something.

I see the third and the last kid on Home Improvement making a guest appearance.

YEAH so gay, the one with the powers was atleast a formidable opponent, but the dumbas that crapped out his other half,

I believe Clark will by chance ride by the waters where Lex crashed his plane and rescue him.

Then Lex will buy Clark a Harley Davison for rescuing him.

Guest star Christina Aguilera will play Clark's slutty girlfriend in Metropolis.

I mean, doens't the ship have the power to neutralize kryptonite, why didn't it try to do that while he was puttin in the keyg

I'm too lazy to read the entire thread... but why did the ship let clark blow it up? Couldn't it read his mind?

Damn! There's another hole!! You guys are ruining the series for me!

Also, the ship actually predicted the prophecy because destroying the ship, in turn hurt the ones he loves, and why are they making it out like he has to rule the people and that his parants (biological) are evil, they are the ones that said never to use his powers for evil in the firts movie, but wasn't that written by Mario Puzo? LOL, no wait that was the secon d movie. The ship was good, i remembe that it healed martha when she ws in the hospital.

I think that lex is dreaming some kind of metaphor.

And that was funny clark was going like 14mph at that rate, by the time the summer ends, he will get to metropolis, so we wont miss much!

What new powers will clark get this season. He alwyas gets a few new abilities, maybe he will get icy breath, or learn to fly in spurts. I think he will get super hearing for sure

He won't be learning to fly until the very end. I remember watching a special on Smallville, and the producers, director, even actors says there's a moto of the show 'no tights, no flights'. Meaning that they have no intention of giving him tights... and when they start introducing him to flights, they know the show has nowhere else to go.

My first thought when i saw the plane crash, was that he was dreaming too... but that's such a lame way of building suspense... that's what soaps uses, i'll be really disappointed if that's what they've resorted to.
