I got physically ill looking at pictures. Like I was going to have a panic attack. Anyone who has seen it knows what it is. Don't link. Fuck ew.

Thank god we eradicated this, and a big fuck you to folks not getting their kids immunized.

And flesh eating disease - pretty fucking nasty. But I seriously got panicky when I first saw smallpox. I really didn't like it at all.

i thought smallpox vaccine was mandatory.

i got it before i started school.. and that wa back in the 70's
 
They don't vaccinate for smallpox anymore (at least not in the US). My parents have those scars on their shoulder from the vaccination, it's a bit more serious than MMR. Since it's basically wiped out (for now, at least) there's no point in vaccinating for it. Risk of complications due to the vaccine is higher than the risk of getting the disease.

I agree, smallpox looks more disturbing to me than something like mucocutaneous leishmaniasis (I'll let you Google it). However, as others have said, naturally occuring smallpox has the distinction of being the only disease that humanity has ever completely eradicated from the Earth.
