class of 1.
I need a Shakespeare course to graduate, and none were being offered during my last semester, so I did an independant study with the department head. just me and him... at first, we actually had meetings and he tried to lecture, but we quickly realized that wasn't going to work out too well. heh. we eventually just held class via e-mail. whenever I had a question about the reading I was working on, I'd e-mail the prof, and the professor would randomly e-mail me questions that I'd have to spend a page or two answering (usually along the lines of "what did you think of the ghost scenes in Hamlet? how are they important to the understanding of the plan?").
outside of that, my smallest class was with 5 other people. Honors Biology, at 8 am in the morning. that prof was a demon. haha. he turned out to be the best teacher I ever had in college, but I despised him at the time. there was no text book for the class, and he wouldn't let us take notes. we just had to sit there and pay attention.
I hated it at the time (especially since his tests were the hardest I'd ever taken... all multiple choice, but in addition to the standard a-d answers, there was e) more than one of the above, f) all of the above, or g) none of the above).
It taught me a new way to learn, though. after that class, I stopped taking notes in college; it always bothered my profs that I didn't take notes, since they thought that I wasn't pay attention, but after racking up the A's, they shut up about it
