I'm looking to buy smallest case possible that will fit full ATX, at no more than $50. I was looking around, but it's hard to judge when descriptions are: "mid tower" or just pictures.
All I need is one CD drive bay & HD drive bay. I don't even need floppy bay (although probably no one sells one without that useless feature.) Don't have to be tower, acctually I'd prefer the older (desktop) style where you could put monitor on top of it.

The only think I can think of at the moment is an HTPC case that looks like a desktop.

There's also a line of small-footprint cases out there -- forgot the brand name -- I think one of their earlier models was called "The Hornet."

I'm probably the wrong person to ask (or answer), because my case-size choices went from full-tower in 1993-95, to ATX midtower between 1997 and 2003, full-tower again in 2004, and now full-tower-business-server-case in 2007.

Next year, I'm going to build a machine with dual-Q6600's in an IBM 360 chassis and a swimming pool for a water-cooling reservoir.

I think he probably would like to make his computer into an I-Pod :D

Just kidding -- just kidding . . .

Welcome to the AT forums, 12321...

Take a look at the NZXT Duet. Not bad if you can afford to wait on the rebate. I have a nice PSU for it - click on the link in my signature (below). ;)

Are you also looking at desktop cases? Because I think some of those slim cases are pretty small.

The only thing with those is I'd worry about how difficult it is to work with those. And the temperatures might be high as well.
