small world

I had posted a few free dead motherboards on (seattle) craigslist for the taking, and I got a few replies. I went to meet a guy up the street from my house at a mini-mart, and we turned to leave and we both went down the same street. Turns out this guy is literally my neighbor, only lives 2 buildings down.

Small world eh?

I have a similar one: I am one of 3 people in this area who have my job. All self-employed, service different dealerships.

I am currently restoring my old Jeep, and I have been selling some of the old parts on the local 4x4 forums.

So a guy calls me the other day, wanting to look at my rear axle, and it turns out he is one of the other 2 guys with the same job as me.

So you went to meet a guy up the street from your house and you're surprised he lived on the same street as you?

Well you do this so people dont see where you live. I knew he was in the general area (city), because it was posted in seattle craigslist which covers a huge area.

Now for him to live on the same street is somewhat surprising; and no he didnt follow me home unless he happened to break into a home 2 doors down.

I put an ad in the newspaper once to sell a guitar and my next door neighbor ended up calling me to buy it and we didn't realize we knew each other.

You sure it wasn't someone just trying to save up cash for a new video card?

When things like that happen, if you ever wake up even months after and you don't know where you are, be sure and check your butt for foreign objects before you go #2 - veteran advice right there.

My friend was in a coworker's cube and saw a listing open for an ice cream maker on CL which the coworker was going to buy. My friend realized it was the ice cream maker he gave his ex-gf along with some of their pots and pans.
