I recent transfered my hdd to my new computer and before i did i ran sysprep to delete all the drivers. It created a new profile floogy1 which i deleted by it still tries to login as floogy1 instead of floogy when it boots up. I looked in user settings for some way to change this but just havent found it. Anyone know how to fix it so that it logs on to the profile automatically on startup?

Try this:

  • right-click My Computer
  • Choose Properties and go to the Network Identification tab
  • Click the Network ID button
and you can probably take it from there :)

Thanks, that did the trick. I was thinking it would have been under users but i guess ms has it's own way of doing things.

I did not know sys prep deleted the drivers too. As for the user name that was an easy fix congrats. why not make a answer file to install with. or even better use ghost or RIS.

Ghost is good but not worth using if i'm just transferring my os hdd with all my stuff on it to a new computer. sysprep pretty much makes it like you just installed windows, starts up with no drivers installed had to reinstall the 4 in 1 VIA drivers to my ATI catalyst drivers. I think there's a way to make it not delete drivers just reset everything else if you're making it for identical systems. I didn't look into it too much because all i had to do was this one thing.
