"Small terms", lexicon, tension, and cerebral wellbeing

I've been informed at the sports club of which I am a member that I use too many "small terms" that is causing a bit of discomfort with my team members. For example, I'm reported to use the word "pass" too much as in "f**ing pass the puck over!". They'd rather prefer "glide" as in "glide the vulcanized rubber disk over!". :disgust:

This is the first time I've been told this at this club, though not the first time in my life. WTF is next...I have no idea but I pass it over to you to decide.
