Small tear in sport jacket

I just realized that I have a small tear on the sleeve of my nice sportcoat. It's about 1" long, and is directly on the seam - it doesn't go all the way through, just to the liner.

I got this jacket for Christmas and have only worn it a couple of times - is this something I can exchange and get a new one for if I have the receipt? Or am I out of luck?

Why don't you go in there and find out? Otherwise, sew it up, doesn't sound like a tough fix.

Sounds like a super easy repair job. If you're not comfortable im sure any place w/ a repair service can do it.

I am after work - just wanted to know what to expect.

No one is going to be able to tell you since we don't know where you bought it and their return policy.

Meh, thought it might be a pretty standard thing. Guess not.

its quite the opposite. every store has a different policy, not standard at all. that be like walking into mcdonalds expecting a quarter pounder to be $1 when Burger king had it for that price....

TechBoy that sig quote is great - what thread was that from?

i dont remember.. i just remember NOCmonkey railing on someone and i loved what he said.

it was about 4 years ago i think. i cant get myself to put a new sig there. i like it

OP, unless you bought it last week, the common thing to do is either sew it yourself (if you have the skill) or take it to a tailor.
