Did I get irritated when my maxiumpc actually came with an aol cd one month? I sure didn't, it was wrapped in a plastic baggie to protect the poor aol cd from falling out.
😀

Here is a CURRENT Tiger "Deal" in Hot Deals It seems some of our newer forum members actually believe they will get a rebate from TD.

SAD. It also looks like Tiger has "seeded" some of their employees into the Hot Deals forum to "encourage" sales (read the thread).

Notice also that the Tiger 'bot hasn't bothered to reply to criticism.

Can a leopard change its spots or a tiger it's stripes? And AT is proudly advertising TD and encouraging it's members to be devoured by them. :disgust:

At least with MaximumPC you just throw away the AOL CD - here we are forced - subscriber or not - to see these crap ads, day after day.

thanks for adding the link to our Halloween Hot Deals. also - as I said before - Tiger does not offer any rebates, we simply pass on the vendors rebates to our customers. I understand rebates are a hassle - but - in this industry they seem to be a necessary evil to hit price points (even FREE!)

& as of right now - this will qualify as the biggest 1 day sale in Tiger's history!!! again - thanks.

ps - i have seen a lot of complaints about Tiger. I have posted my personal info to help any one out. Yet - I have not had 1 person contact me yet to help them fix a problem (rebate, phone card, other) - hmmm????

Why would only Anandtech members get this specific attention when Tigerdirect customer issues have existed far beyond this community? It seems to me that there are more important broader internal issues to address in order to improve your record with your Resellerratings and more importantly the Better Business Bureau. What is being done about that? Personally I would like to know that there is a much stronger customer service directive towards all customers, and not just Anandtech members, before I consider placing more orders through your store.

Most of the complaints are old, they have given up ever getting it resolved... instead they decide to never shop with you again. If you went to Best Buy 2 years ago and got shafted, you wouldnt come back 2 years later trying to get it resolved.. you just wouldnt go there again. And then there are the rest of us... who havent shopped with you, but we have seen the complaints, we have seen your poor reseller ratings, we have seen you sell our emails, we have seen you have scammed people in the past with phone cards. WHY should we even give you a chance when there are others out there like newegg and mwave who are excellent? And how it costs $10 to ship thoose "free" items when it costs $3-5 to ship it UPS depending on US location (I have UPS worldship and daily pickup so I know UPS prices). Add in the fact you guys have offered quite of few rebates that never get filled or were never even valid in the first place.

What possible reason should I have to try you guys? WHY would I even TRY a company that has a past like that, when I can go to a reputable dealer.

LOL! Too late. My time is worth more than that. I'd much rather spend it preventing other people from getting shafted now than deal with your company to try to resolve past issues.

Interestingly enough "TigerDirectDeals" you can get rated here as well now that you have a member profile. 🙂
Please let us all know the names of all the different companies operated by or affiliated with TigerDirect. I am sure that the same customers who have dealings with you would like to know what others to utilize (or avoid if one were to believe all the bad reviews @ resellerratings etc... 😉 )
edited to put after mr td's post

By the tone of your comment it sounds as if you are skeptical of the complaints mentioned here at AT. Funny as I haven't any threads complaining about other Vendors who have advertized here. I have never shopped at TD and after your comment I don't think I ever will.

edit: fixed a linky, left everything else as is.

I purchased from Tiger direct 1 time, and that was the last time I will ever purchase from them.

4 months to get me a set of rounded floppy cables.

I will never purchase from tham again.

And because he enabled it I gave him a 10. I hate the company with a passion, but he took the time to post his contact info in a thread that has almost 200 posts that say Tiger sucks. That takes cahones.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Tiger is horrible, but Bruce seems like a nice enough guy.

Yeah right, name some! Anybody that knows squat would go elsewhere. Your prices are not the best and by the complaints I've read your Customer Service sucks despite what you say. This is one "Power User" user that doesn't use TD!

Mr. Matthews -- Your reading comprehension skills must be at least as bad as your company's reputation. The entire rest of apoppin's post was ripping you a new asshole. What he said was,

I guess you don't get it, so I'll spell it out for you:

Considering how bad your rep is, how long it has been that way, and how little you have done to correct it, YOUR CREDIBILITY IS ZIP... ZILCH... NADA! Nobody gives a damn about discussing it with you. :disgust:

Please take your OPT IN SPAM contest registration and the rest of your ads, and leave!

mrhans -- Thanks for your links. They deserve more attention because they go to reports from the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida, and they are reposted on BBB pages from Chicago and North Carolina.
Customer Experience

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record. Specifically our files show a pattern of complaints alleging dissatisfaction with product quality and performance, failure to deliver promised goods or services, failure to eliminate basic cause of complaints, misrepresentation in advertising and marketing practices and a pattern of no response to customer complaints brought to their attention by the Better Business Bureau.

GOVERNMENT ACTION: On November 4, 1999, case# C-3903, the Federal Trade Commission issued a Decision & Order against Tiger Direct for violations of the Federal Trade Commission Act. I am starting to get just a little annoyed . . . 😀 And I am not trying to rip on anything (Harvey) 🙂 . . . but I'd sure like further discussion.

First of all, WHERE TigerDirectDeals, have you posted your personal info? (I'll answer this) . . . In only one small thread completely unreleated to your ads and not generally available to the Hot Deals Forum. And your info has been posted for only about a week. I would say that 95% of the forum users are currently unaware of this thread.

Perhaps someone will start a "What's your experience with TigerDirect?" thread in Off-Topic and direct them to your complaint line (if there is any need, of course). 😉

😀

Please reply candidly to the SERIOUS allegations about your company's service noted here (over-and-over) from good sources like the BBB.

I wonder why Anand or any of the other moderators have not posted again....

and how did that meeting with the advertising people(the mod post) go?

Thanks to you guys that have spoken up. Some of us have seen Bruce's attempts at damage control before; the facts don't bear out what he says. Sales at the Tigre will probably continue to drop because these facts will be propogated to many other forums on the 'net. No hot deal is worth knowingly funding deceptive and unethical business practices; there are too many price matching opportunities for intelligent folks like the ones on this forum. At some point, some enterprising young guy/gal will consolidate all of the available info on TD and the choice will be clear. Only the tip of the iceberg is visible now.

What is there to say? TigerDirect is INdefensible. Just look at the link I posted to their "special free after rebate" thread in Hot Deals and see how our members have been treated (and MISinformed) by TD's CSRs.

I was wondering . . . do you think a thread would be appropriate for OT? I mean it would reach a lot more members - and since TigerDirect is proud of their reputation - perhaps the "power users" would come forward and relate delightful experiences with TD (or not).

😉

Not on the banner's. 🙁

And they have to be CHANGED anyway cause the old ones are dated.

What is your experience with TigerDirect? (in OT)

I figured it is as "off-topic" as it gets there with similar threads from time-to-time. It will just reach a larger audience there and perhaps we can find those AT Forum 'power users" that TigerDirect is so proud of.
