Small Q - How to change FOV in Half-Life?

I've been playing Q3 and UT with my favorite FOV of 110, and I suddenly got an ich to whip out the ol' Half-Life CD, but playing any FPS game on the puter with an FOV lower than 105 will ruin my skills in Q3 and UT!

Is there a console in Half-Life to enter commands?

I know there are in the multiplayer part of it, not sure about in the game itself. but try hitting the tilda ~

you can change a setting called default_fov in Half Life, which sets the default FOV to be used during the game, but I have never found a way to make Half Life do on-the-fly FOV adjustments in the middle of a game. you have to edit that setting in your CFG before starting or joining a game

just type "fov 105"
just make sure that you JUST type FOV to see what your original setting is (it will say fov xxx (default) when you type it in)

this works from the console (if you dont have the console by pushing ~ in game, add this line to your shorcut that you launch the game from "-console".
