Small mousepad for optical mice?

I want to get a small mouse pad to use with my MX 700. I put my mouse on my keyboard tray, but there's only an area of about 6 x 6 inches for my mouse to move around. It works fine for me since I have my sensativity up pretty high.

The problem is that my RatPad is way too big for that spot and my mouse leaves gunk on my desk (from the stickers and mouse feet, I guess). Are there any hard mousepads that are smaller? I don't necessiarly need a hard plastic mouse pad either. One of those "sticker" mouse pads that you stick to the desk would work too. Thanks.

I use the back of a notebook for a mousepad, nice and smooth, but the optical mouse picks it up great since the cardboard has a nice visual texture. The back of a small tablet might work. My 5-star notebook's back is very thick cardboard, so I could consider it a "hard" mousepad.

i think there is just 1 standard size. just buy one at staples for 1$ and cut it to size

nope, the new ones are larger, also Ive seen smaller ones (meaning smaller then the typical pad)
