Yeah I get those sometimes, especially when I switch deodorants. I just pop them. Hurts like hell for a few seconds, but no more lump.

I get those occasionally. Went to the doctor and was told that it was just a subdural sebatious cyst (basically a really big and deep zit ;))... it will go away in a few days.

I had one of those, I noticed it in January and got it out a couple weeks ago. Doc said it wouldn't go away on its own though. Dermatologist made a tiny cut and scooped it out, pathology said it was an "epidermal inclusion cyst".

Check your other arm pit and your groin...any more lumps and get 'em checked!

No other lumps anywhere for sure... just in one armpit.

I second the lymph node theory. My wife is a nurse and found the same thing under her arm and when I question her about going to the doctor, she informed me that the lymph nodes swell like that when there is an infection somewhere in the body. It doesn't mean that you are going to die.

So only ONE lymph node can swell?

(@*#! I would be careful if I were you. It seriously could be something bad. You seriously need to see a doctor. Best of luck.

It may just be a swollen pore or something. I had that once. It popped, then all was good again. I say wait a day or two. But I'm anti-doctors.

I had the exact same symptons about a year ago, and it turned out to be a cyst... but it could also be an inflamed lymph node. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and it went away immediately. Also, it isn't going to cost you $1200 to see a doctor. My doctor charges $75 for office visits. If you are in school, check and see if they have a student doctor place, because those are really cheap. If you are not in school, call around and see how much the doctors charge for an office visit... If the doctor wants to run extra tests(x-ray, blood tests, bacteria, cultures) that is where things get expensive. You should probably get it looked at pretty soon.

i would be seeing a doctor asap regardless of health coverage.

I agree.

wtf are you serious? I mean I was thinking I might wait and see what happens... I'd rather not pay $1200 or however much for a doctor to tell me it's nothing

Get clue my friend, if it was something like cancer and you waited months it might be to late by the time you had it looked at.

Now I now going to the doc is not cheap, so If I were you I might wait a few week and if there is no change then go to the doc
