I am looking to mod my case with a small LCD monitor, any tips, suggestions or help would be nice!

I do not just want a temp. or fan speed read out, I want an actual monitor.

resolution: moderate, does not have to be that high

responce time: moderate, I would like to be able to watch a movie on it

size: within the size of 2 CD rom face plates

depth: not too deep about 15mm or half an inch maybe 25mm at most. a 2 piece unit would be best as I am trying to mount it on the flip-down door of my 4U case , and I could mount the other parts hidden inside.

Am I not being realistic?:D:confused:

Yes, that is a consideration, but I was hoping to run it directly from a PCI video card, and in the past I have used converters and the TV outs of video cards. They seemed blurry to me. I will keep that in mind though.

I was looking at this one with extreme modding for the unit and my case.

This one is there too, but I cannot find any info on it and it's requirements.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Question: what kind of resolution do you expect? I think most TV-out cards still max out at 800x600, but even if you use this as a full-fledged monitor, I think you'll really have to squint. If I make a comparison with, say Palm Pilots, at 320x240, I think blurriness is the least of your problems.

In any case, this sounds like a great project, make sure you post pictures of the mod when you're done :)
