That school district is a shit show. It is one of the fastest growing suburbs of Dallas and the median home prices is now pushing $350k but They had more problems in their high schools this past year than any high school in Dallas ISD. So what do they do they make their already strict dress code even stricter and then roll out a silly marketing video saying every profession has a dress code when their teacher and office staff always wear jeans.

Just at one high school they had multiple gun incidents on campus. Someone was murdered in front of the school in the early morning hours. They had someone high on meth break into their ag barn. They had about six or seven actual lock downs. They had about half a dozen fights daily and they had a brawl were a police was concussed and a kid was curb stomped and has to go to the hospital via ambulance

I’m shocked they haven’t had a school shooting.

Texas school students model their new 'modest' uniform

I assume these rules pertain to public schools exclusively. Those high class expensive private schools that are getting public funding of whom wearing uniforms that require skirts be worn by female students are A-OK, yes?

Or maybe those religiously infected prudes over there are concerned by skirts that look like these?View attachment 63481

Hey, if I was a young man in school having to ogle a sight like that, I'd marvel at how perfect the female human form is and how appreciative I'd be for the ladies to model themselves in that way. Yehhhhh, tha.....that's how I'd feel about that. 😛
Japanese men are drooling.

You're a day late

The problem with a bill attempting to "redefinite obscenities nationwide" is what is "obscene" for First Amendment purposes was already defined by SCOTUS in Miller v California.

I suppose he hopes to have the current SCOTUS revisit that definition. And who knows, they just might.

Yet even then, 75% of all porn downloaded in the US is sourced on foreign servers. Good luck winning a "war on porn" in the digital age.

no skirts, no dresses, no jackets with a hood and nothing with a hood inside the school.

The Republicans are such control freaks based on their super fake morality. A handmaid's tale is in our future.

Republicans are just nasty beings.

"Clothing with hoods, dresses, skirts and skorts now all banned for students in fifth grade and higher at a Texas school district.

It’s part of a new dress code that officials say will help improve the learning environment, and it has one soon-to-be sophomore fighting back.

In a few weeks Brooklynn Hollaman will dig through her closet, looking for clothes to wear on her first day of 10th grade.

“We were allowed to wear dresses and skirts and skorts and everything like that,” she said.

But this fall, the Forney high schooler will have to limit what she can put on.

Forney Independent School District is updating its dress code for the upcoming school year.

The district has a seven-page document with every detail, but the most notable changes include this: No clothing with hoods can be worn inside. That includes hoodies, jackets and coats.

Also dresses, skirts and skorts cannot be worn by fifth-graders or older. Pre-kindergarten through fourth-graders are still allowed to wear the latter.

“I even have a little sister that can’t wear skirts anymore,” Brooklynn said.

In a statement, Forney ISD writes the dress code is meant to “improve student self-esteem, bridge socio-economic differences among students, and promote positive behavior, thereby enhancing school safety and improving the learning environment.”

“I think people should be able to wear them as long as they’re appropriate,” Brooklynn said."
This feels so...1967. (in an elitist Jr. High with dress codes).

I can see a "dress code" that addresses potentially offensive language on t-shirts or wearing stuff that's overly revealing (for males or females) but this just sounds dumb.

Either stick to "regulating" the really extreme/common sense stuff that actually CAN be a problem or go with uniforms that DO at least offer some proven benefits.

He's calling for this current Supreme Court to address that precedent and redefine it based on what he wants, so yes that is both the problem and the one he wants to address.

Citation for that? I'm guessing that doesn't take into account stuff like OnlyFans. Which, you act like that would be an issue, when that will give them cause to justify them creating their version of the Great Firewall, which is definitely something they want and its one of the reasons there hasn't been more of a push for the government control of internet connections as it makes that much more feasible.

Waiting for hypocrite Ted Cruz to cosponsor this bill with a straight face.

Well he can probably locally source his porn by pimping out his wife and daughter.

That and he probably wants his stash of porn tapes to go up in value. I feel like there's this weird type of guy that has fond memories of "woods porn" and other weirdly communal porn stuff, like old stag parties where someone would get their hands on a porn film and so they'd use that as a reason to throw a drunken party. Or having to go watch porn in theaters, etc.
