So I'm trying to clear out some of my 'stock' by building inexpensive general purpose computers for people I know... One guy has an ooold Celeron with 256mb of ram, so I'm sure anything I build will make him happy.
Uses are web surfing, youtube, pokerstars, not much else... Card games etc... (he's 55, and not computer literate). He will reuse his monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.
I will buy used or from newegg.ca, mostly looking for part recommendations and I'll search for the best price...
Parts I already own:
Case: Lian-Li PC-Q07
Mobo: ZOTAC GF6100 AM3 Mobo
PSU: Corsair CX430V2
DVD: Sony DVD Writer
HDD: 80GB Seagate SATA (a bit small?)
Items I'll need:
DDR2 Ram - Locally someone is selling 1GB sticks, 2 for $15 sounds good to me!
CPU:
I have a Sempron 3400+, but I'm thinking dual-core minimum, no?
Motherboard has a max TDP of 65W 🙁
Opinions?
