The Dimension 9200C caught my eye with its form factor. Are there any cases out there of the same size for building a custom PC? All the small ones I've seen are desktop types(horizontal old school) or cubic desings(Shuttle comes in mind) and I dislike those. I'm looking for a small standing case.
Dell offers up to a X1300PRO 256MB as a video card for that model but I'm pretty sure you can fit a medium end card such as a X1600 or 7600 series(please correct me if I'm wrong).
It's clear that a high-end card can't be fitted in this size of case but having a nice gaming rig that small would kick ass 😎
 
The Athenatech A100 series has a pair of feet that allow it to be arranged vert. or horiz. The AOpen H420B, any number of InWin cases. Anyone can find lots of them with but small effort on their part... :roll: But be careful as many of the really small cases require low-pro add-on cards which aren't available in a wide selection. The ones I mentioned except for the InWin can accept standard height cards.

Those Dell systems are really desktop layouts standing upright. I'll second the Athenatech. BTW, you can fit standard video cards and mATX motherboards in them, plus there are options of upgraded PSU (Enermax 270W and Fortron 300W). One caveat is to use a short optical drive or it may hit the CPU HSF.

Here's my gaming rig using a chassis almost identical in basic layout to the Athenatech.

If you need anything more than a low end graphics card, avoid the slimline designs.
 
I checked on the sizes for ATI so far. The X1300 and X1600 series cards are surprisingly identical in size. You can put a medium end card in those no problem.
 
Are you sure you want to be limited to low-medium end cards forever? There's probably only an inch difference between the two styles of cases.

The Athenatech 106 is closer to Zap's case. And nMedia (div. of enermax) has some similar ones. I like Enermax's blue/silver Venus (CS-10068) case too (very similar internally to the Athena cases but include the excellent Enermax SFX PSU ). there are also several similar Lian Li and Thermaltake cases.

Similar chassis? Yes. Exactly the same? No. That was made several years ago by A+GPB, which doesn't exist anymore.
