Tried out the Focus today, felt like a piece of crap inside.

Tried out the Civic today, seats were a bit too bucked on the sides..

What else should I try?

I don't think you'll find one that won't feel like a tin box. Did you check out a MINI?

Sentra. Protege. Cavalier/Sunfire (lmao). Corolla. Neon.

He said no tin boxes. If he thinks a Civic feels like a tinbox, I don't think he'd like any of those.

The Protege is pretty nice. Friend's fiance just bought a Mazdaspeed Protege over the weekend. Its a nice little car.

sentra isn't like a tin box what are you talking about 😛

great car to drive around town, a little lacking in power in freeway speeds though. still better than the civic IMO

I didnt say the Civic felt like a tin box.. I liked it!

It was just that I am so used to bench seating on cars the bucket seats felt quite wierd... I may have to get used to them...

I like my Corolla..might be too small for you, though -- but it is a bit bigger than a 2dr Civic.

they are shaped that way so you can go around a corner without ending up on the other side of the car. 😉

*nods wisely* Also one of the best in terms of fuel mileage.

Oh man.. If you drove a Mini Cooper, particularly a Mini Cooper S and could afford it, I doubt that you'd look any further. What a freaking blast! I test drove a new BMW M3 and then test drove a Mini Cooper S for the hell of it, while I was at the dealer directly after the M3 test drive. I had as much fun, if not more fun driving the Cooper S than the M3 and that's saying something.

If you're looking to go the econobox route, look at something in either a Honda or Toyota. Both are tops in quality and they are the best going otherwise.
